Neutral kaon production in e+e-, ep, and pp-bar collisions at next-to-leading order.
We present new sets of fragmentation functions for neutral kaons, both at leading and next-to-leading order. They are fitted to data on inclusive K0 production in e+e− annihilation taken by MARK II at PEP ( √ s = 29 GeV) and by ALEPH at LEP. Our fragmentation functions lead to a good description of other e+e− data on inclusive K0 production at various energies. They also nicely agree with the K...

Measurements by the STAR collaboration of neutral pion production at large Feynman x (xF ) in the first polarized proton collisions at √ s = 200 GeV were reported previously. During the following two runs additional statistics were acquired with an improved forward calorimeter for the π0 cross-section and analyzing power measurements. First data from pp collisions at √ s = 410 GeV were taken du...
متن کاملNeutral and Charged Polymers at Interfaces *
Chain-like macromolecules (polymers) show characteristic adsorption properties due to their flexibility and internal degrees of freedom, when attracted to surfaces and interfaces. In this review we discuss concepts and features that are relevant to the adsorption of neutral and charged polymers at equilibrium, including the type of polymer/surface interaction, the solvent quality, the character...
متن کاملKaon and pion production at CBM energies
It has been argued that a strangeness enhancement in heavy ion collisions might be an indirect signal for the quark-gluon plasma [1]. This enhancement should be most easily seen in the most abundant strange particles, the kaons. Experiments at the AGS and SPS indeed found a maximum in the K/π at about 30 GeV [2]. In [3] the authors presented an excitation function of the K/π ratio at these ener...

range 4 < pT < 12 GeV/c. The pT spectrum and nuclear modification factor for J/ψ with pT < 10 GeV/c is reported, along with results from Υ(1S+2S+3S) production in Au+Au collisions. The nuclear modification factor for high-pT J/ψ (pT > 5 GeV/c) is found to be consistent with unity in peripheral collisions, while a significant suppression of low-pT J/ψ and Υ is observed in central collisions. The...
